Awards, awards and recruits...
The team headed to the end of season banquet to celebrate a season of successes and handed out the annual awards. Captain Phil Higgins took home the coaches award for being the teams best leader. Assistant captain Tyler Goeckner-Zoeller won the "Old Man Miller" award for most committed to the success of the program. The "Most Improved" award went to senior Jerad Korte, who has improved immensely in his 3 years as a Lions. Finally the team voted for MVP which went to freshman Nick Cruz in a tight race. Cruz led the team in points in his rookie season, and looks to keep improving with the team over the next three years. The Lions continue to get good news on recruits attending LMU starting next year. The team is very excited to grow and work their way to the regional tournament in the near future.

Seniors Hang them up...
The Seniors who headed the LMU Ice hockey program from the beginning played their final games in LMU uniforms. While the Lions ended up losing a hard fought game to UCLA, the first loss to UCLA this season in four games, the seniors left it all on the ice. The Lions will be looking for new leaders next season as the seniors, eight in total, will be missed on and off the ice. However, with a strong recruitting class coming in next year the Lions look to continue their path upwards towards regionals in the ACHA.
