Costly Weekend Trip for Lions

The Lions played three games against ranked teams this weekend, and while the team had a late third period lead in two of the games, the Lions lost all three games in regulation with a short bench. In the first game, the Lions led SJSU 4-2 with 8 minutes to go, but some bad penalties let SJSU back in the game, and with three late goals the Lions fell 5-4. The next night, the Lions lost forward Parker Costin to a season ending injury, but led #11 Denver 4-2 with 10 minutes to go in the third. Denver scored three goals in a minute to take the lead and capped it with an empty net goal to win 8-5. Sunday the Lions faced Boise St, and a season ending injury to freshman Kory Medeiros took the wind out of the LMU sails, who led in the 2nd period. Boise poured it on in the third period with the Lions only having 10 skaters to win 13-6. The Lions come home to face Long Beach twice this coming week, then have the conference playoffs the following week.
