Lions Prevail in Final Minute of Home Opener

The Lions once again battled the USC Trojans in their home opener of the season, and once again won in dramatic last second fashion. Last year, the Lions gave up a 2 goal lead in the third, only to score in the final 3 seconds to win, and much the same this year. LMU Rookie CJ Geeza broke out this game with a Hattrick, and led 4-2 after 2. In the third, USC came out strong and scored two early goals to tie it 4-4. The Lions got a strong forecheck late in the third, and Trevor Tracy stole the puck in the final 30 seconds, deked the goalie, and put it top shelf to win the game 5-4 in front of a large LMU contingency. The other LMU goal went to team captain Kyle Martins. Jake Blazier got the victory in net, and the Lions were able to salute their fans with an exciting victory.
