M2 Lions Cruise on Celebratory Senior Night

The M2 Lions had a lot to celebrate on their Senior Night, and it didn’t take long to get the celebration going.

The Lions celebrated their 8 graduating seniors, Wojcik, Carney, Cigarran, DeLaForest, Profaci, Hawthorne, Hogan and MacGillivray, with a pre-game ceremony on the ice.

Once the puck dropped, the Lions were ready to push to score, and newcomer Gabe Revivo got onto the board first, firing home the pass from Cooper Ford to give the Lions the early lead.  The Lions would score two more in the first half of the period, as Lewis and Hawthorne found the back of the net.  UCLA would score to cut it to 3-1, but in the final minute Zephyr Tangri scored on a seeing-eye shot to give the Lions the 4-1 lead after the first.

The packed crowd was enjoying the scoring, and the Lions put two more goals up in the second, Josh Elias and Alex Skenderian scored, the Lions led 6-1 after two.  In the third, the Lions pulled back and an even period saw UCLA score twice, and Skenderian score his second of the night, and the Lions won 7-3.

Senior John Profaci picked up the win in net, to cement him into second all time in program wins.  Stopping 22 shots, including facing 16 penalty kills, John kept the Bruins off the board and gave LMU the ability to build up a lead.

Next up for the Lions, WCHC Playoffs.  First up, UCLA once again, in the 2v7 Matchup of the WCHC Quarter-finals.
