The M2 Lions found themselves in a similar situation heading into the third period, Friday night as they hosted Northern Arizona for the first of two games. Trailing in a game and unable to generate the pressure they expected. But something clicked in the third period, and propelled the Lions to their first victory of this early season. Coming off the bench, Will DeLaForest scored the first of his three on the period, sprung for a breakaway. The Lions kept the pressure up and scored the winning goal with minutes to play, and kept NAU from much pressure to end the game. The Lions won 5-4.
The following night, the pressure never stopped as the Lions scored four first period goals, three in the second, and three in the third. Jeff lee got the scoring started early in the first, followed by the first ACHA goal of rookie Kenny McIlwain. Skenderian scored two more in the first, and the Lions cruised to the sweep of NAU. Carter Anastasia, recently moved up to play forward scored his first ACHA goal.
The Lions moved to 2-2 on the season, and host University of Washington next weekend.
