Third Period Stalls Homestand

The Lions were riding high coming off their home opening victory over USC last week, but couldn’t put together a complete game this weekend and lost both games of the homestand. On Friday night, the Lions took on CSUN in the first WCHC action of the year. The Lions had a slow first period, but stormed back in the 2nd and had a 2 goal lead in the third, but a flurry of goals by CSUN ending up dropping the Lions by a 5-4 score. The next night, the Lions were looking for some revenge on their lopsided lose at SDSU two weeks earlier, and controlled the game for the first two periods. The Lions once again had a two goal lead heading into the third, but a flurry of goals around the 10 minute mark had SDSU suddenly up, and leaving the Lions with the loss, 6-5. The Lions will have to regroup as they have another WCHC Conference game this coming weekend. The team will play on the road at CSUF.
