Tracy, Spesak, Martins Join the Hall

The Lions are thrilled to announce the 2023 Hall of Fame Class, and its a big one!

Three instrumental players from the 2014 and 2015 Regionals teams have been selected to the hall of fame.

Trevor Tracy• A transfer to LMU after playing Junior hockey, Trevor appeared in 54 games over two seasons for the Lions.  His first, 14/15, saw Trevor provide a scoring spark for the Lions as they made it to back to back regionals.  His second year, Trevor led the entire Nation in ACHA D2 scoring.  Finishing with 111 points in two seasons (6th in team history at the time, now 7th). Averaging over a goal and assist per game (54GP, 55G, 56A,111P) Trevor was an instrumental leader, and spark for the Lions.

Taylor Spesak• A three year player for the Lions, including leading the Lions to the 2014 and 2015 Regional tournaments, Spesak is the first goalie inducted into the LMU Hockey Hall of Fame.  Appearing in 54 games over his three seasons, Taylor had 25 wins against the toughest competition in LMU Hockey history at that point.  He finished as the all time wins leader upon his graduation (now 2nd).  A calming presence in net, the Lions program saw its highest moments with Spesak as its leader in net.

Kyle Martins• From Los Angeles, Kyle Martins played three seasons for the Lions, after spending his freshman year playing for the LA Jr Kings AAA program.  In his three seasons, Kyle led the team in scoring his sophomore and junior years, and was second in scoring his senior season, where he was also 7th in the nation in scoring.  Leading the team in scoring in both the 2014 and 2015 Regional seasons, Martins was a huge part of the leadership of the team.  In his three seasons played, appearing in 86 games, Martins scored 163 points (80g, 83a) and finished second all time in scoring for the Lions, and the all time leader in assists.

Congratulations to Trevor, Taylor and Kyle on this great accomplishment, and thank you for being great Lions!
